James Wesley Wharton was born on January 25, 1948, in Jamaica, Queens, New York to James Lonnie and Elizabeth Wharton both deceased.

James affectionately known as “Jimmy” worked in New York for many years for Con Edison. After moving to New Jersey, he transitioned to the cable industry. However, Jimmy was known for his culinary skills. His family and friends loved to call him Chef Jimmy, because he always put his heart into preparing his meals. He will be remembered for his dedication and passion for cooking.

Jimmy was a faithful and dedicated member  of  Holy  Light Church where he rededicated his life. He came  to  church faithfully and enjoyed attending  Sunday  School.  He  loved  to sing and could be heard singing along with the choir.

Jimmy is survived by his daughter Arnetha and granddaughter, Nia Simone, his sisters Gloria (Lloyd) both deceased; Ellen and Linda, and his favorite brother-in-law Steve from  New  Jersey. And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
