Lynne Turner, beloved wife, Mother, educator and friend was born January 9th, 1945 in Neptune, NJ to the late Naomi Roslyn Wallace and Van Wallace. She attended Neptune High School and pursued higher education at Cheyney University, where she earned her undergrad degree in May of 1967 and at Rowan University and The College of New Jersey where she earned multiple master’s degrees thereafter.
Early in life, she was very involved in her home church in Asbury Park, NJ, both singing in the choir and playing the organ & piano. Later, she joined Wesley A. M. E. Zion Church in Burlington, NJ. Lynne had success being a model for the Ebony Fashion Fair, though her true calling was in being an educator. She taught multiple grades in the Willingboro School system and later specialized in Language Arts/English as Reading Specialist. Lynne went on to work on multiple child study teams, created her own curriculum for the district for elementary aged students and even worked as Assistant Principal before retiring in 2010. She was also extremely active in her community, being a part of multiple organizations like, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., The Order of the Eastern Star, The Links, Incorporated as well as others.
Lynne enjoyed gathering with family and friends, attending plays and fashion shows, being active in the community & church and was best known for the love and light she brought to everyone with whom she crossed paths.
Left to cherish fond memories of a life well spent include Lynne’s children, Blair Anthony Turner (Willingboro, NJ), Arielle Monai Mooring née Turner (Wilingboro, NJ), Granddaughter Janai A. Mooring (Willingboro, NJ) as well as a host of cousins, family and friends.
The Turner family would like to express their sincere gratitude and appreciation for the enormous outpouring of prayers and countless expressions of concern, love and sympathy. God bless you all for your kindness.
Celebration of her Life will be held, 11AM Tuesday, November 2, 2021 at the TL Hutton Family & Friends Funeral Services, 869 Beverly Road, Burlington, NJ. Family and friends may view from 10 AM until time of service. Interment: Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson, NJ
