Marcine Lamae Chestnut

Marcine Lamae Chestnut was born on December 23, 1972, in Brooklyn, New York to the late Joyce Crittleton and the late Willie Chestnut. Marcine was known to her close friends and family as “Scratch.” At the age of five years old, Marcine moved to Pemberton, New Jersey with her grandparents Laura Mae and Epsie Winfield. With the help of her loving grandparents and uncles, Marcine grew into a beautiful young lady.

Marcine attended the Pemberton Township School District and graduated from Pemberton High School in 1992. After graduation, she enrolled in RCBC formerly known as BCC, where she studied Radiology. Marcine worked in the mental health and human services field for several years where she developed long-term relationships.

Marcine was a vibrant headstrong and genuine woman. She enjoyed singing, music, traveling, and most of all dancing to her favorite song Doo-Doo Brown. Everything she ever did was for her three children whom she loved and adored. Marcine loved attending her eldest son Martice’s football games. While at the games she would yell, scream, run up and down the gate of the field “as the team moved, she moved.”

Unexpectedly, Marcine was called home to the Lord on early Friday, September 17, 2021, at the age of 48. Gone to soon. She will be reunited with her parents, grandparents, aunts; Marcine, Doris, and Patricia and Uncles; Frank, Epsie, and Matt as well as her favorite cousin/brother Nare’ at the Golden Gates of Heaven.

Cherishing her memories are her two sons; Martice Chestnut-Tillman and Antonio Tillman, and her baby girl; Martia Chestnut,  her four sisters; Shanee, Shakeema (Sha), Lucresa (Crissy) and Erica, one brother;  Nathaniel, two uncles; Maurice and Rickey, two aunts; Deborah and Darlene, her three favorite sisters/cousins; Shamar, Nacaya, and Latoya, one god-son;  Perry, and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Her bubbly and exciting personality will be deeply missed.

Celebration of her Life Services: Friday, September 24, 2021 11AM at the TL Hutton Family & Friends Funeral Services, 869 Beverly Road, Burlington, NJ. Family and friends may view from 10AM until time of Service. Interment: Odd Fellows Cemetery, Pemberton, NJ
