Marie Margareth Desire
Marie Margareth Desire was born on July 21,1960 in Port Salut, Haiti to Dieuvenoit and Annela Maurice. She is the eldest of four children. Marie grew up in the Catholic Church. She attended Immaculée Conception and Saint François d'Asise. She graduated high school from the Republique du Bresil. She was a high performing and well-behaved student. Marie was loved and known to be kind, wise, and humble by her classmates who became her life-long friends.
Marie studied and graduated as a social worker. Instead, she became a principal and teacher at the College Paul Etzer Vilaire, a private elementary school in Carrefour, Port-au-Prince, Haiti. She was a member of La Saint Famille Church Group. She was introduced to her husband through her best friend, Chantal. Luders and Marie wed on April 18, 1988; they emigrated to the U.S. shortly after and settled in Princeton, NJ. In 1996, they settled in Burlington Township, NJ and raised their three children.
She devoted her life to taking care of her family. In Sept 2001, she brought her parents from Haiti to move into her home. Her two nephews, Woodley and Christopher, moved in next in 2011. Last, she helped her sister Jinette and her brother Joseph along with their families move to the U.S. in 2017. She always gave back to her remaining family in Haiti over the years.
Marie worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant for over 20 years at Virtua Willingboro Hospital. She also worked per-diem for 10+ years at Virtua Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was hardworking and rarely missed a day of work. On her days off, she enjoyed relaxing at home with her family and catching up with friends. Her favorite TV shows to watch were Deal or No Deal, 90 Day Fiance, and anything on HGTV.
Marie touched the lives of many with her compassionate and caring personality. She transitioned peacefully on Thursday, September 8, 2021 in the comfort of her home surrounded by her family. She is survived by her mother Annela, husband Luders, and three children: Jessica, Aaron, Alex; three siblings: Jinette, Joseph, and Frandy, and numerous others including cousins, nephews, and nieces.
Celebration of Life: Saturday, September 18, 2021 10:30 AM at the Corpus Christi Church, 11 South Sunset Road, Willingboro, NJ. Family and friends may view from 9:30 AM- 10:30 AM. Interment: Laurel Hill Cemetery, Burlington, NJ
