Patricia Sills, 79, of Edgewater Park, New Jersey, made a peaceful transition to eternal rest, departing this life on May 10th, 2021, after a short illness. Patricia, affectionately known as Pat, was born on August 22, 1941, at St Joseph’s Hospital, in Syracuse, NY. She was the daughter of the late Mortimer Randolph and Bernice Slater. Her mother passed away when Pat was less than a year old, and her loving Aunt Lottie Jones and Uncle Arthur Jones raised her as their own.

Pat graduated from St Lucy’s Academy in Syracuse. After graduation she accepted a position at St. Joseph’s Hospital where was the first black unit clerk.  She moved to Brooklyn NY in 1965 to start her career in banking.

In 1974, Pat met the love of her life, Henry Sills, at a cookout in Queens, NY. A year later, they married and moved to New Jersey. Soon after they had a beautiful bundle of joy, Deserie, the apple of both their eyes. The three of them would remain very close until the end.

Pat attended Business Banking School. From there she embarked upon a successful 20-year career in the banking industry. Her professional achievements include a promotion to bank branch manager and then bank officer at Burlington County Trust, First Union, and Wachovia Banks in Willingboro, New Jersey. Her last position held before retiring was Taxation Representative for the State of New Jersey.

Pat had such a passion for life. This was clear in her fondness of old school music, particularly Motown, and her love for dancing. Being the fashionista she was, with hats to match, Pat did not miss an opportunity to shop. She loved buying shoes, designer handbags, outfits, makeup and attending fashion shows. She enjoyed eating at upscale restaurants, going to casinos, and visiting New York for Broadway plays. This was also her chance to spend quality time with her favorite girl Deserie. She further expressed her love for fashion and beauty as an Avon representative for 30 years.

Pat enjoyed a fulfilling 17-year retirement, which allowed her to satisfy her desire for travel with family and friends. She enjoyed cruises to various islands. She would say that her most notable trips were to Paris, England, Italy, and a Mediterranean Cruise.

A member of Jesus the Good Shepherd Parish for over 40 years, Pat was a Christian and true believer, standing on faith in all that she did.

Always keeping family a priority, Pat looked forward to the annual Ransom-Sease Family Reunions. She attended many over the years, co- hosting the 2014 reunion, and serving as regional representative for years.

In her efforts to give back, Pat supported the following organizations: Woman in Banking, Susan G Komen Foundation, National Kidney Foundation, NAACP, Moorestown AARP 243, and the Willingboro Friendship Guild; She worked as an election worker for the Board of Elections for over 15 years.

Pat was preceded in death by her loving parents, siblings Diane Abdul Haqq, Arthur (Chum) Jones and Ruth Larrymore. She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband, Henry Sills, of 46 years; her loving daughter Deserie Hill and son-in-law Michael Hill; grandson Michael Hill Jr; grand dog Sasha; siblings Nancy Jones-Handford, Brenda Williams, Yvonne Randolph, and Reggie (Maureen ) Randolph; Goddaughter Teressa Hightower, special cousins Jackie Stanfield, Lillian Sills Bell, Shauna Hopkins, Trammel and Harris family; and a host of nieces and nephews and dedicated friends, neighbors, Moorestown AARP 243 and Friendship Guild.
